    Very friendly technician who explained what he was doing and any issues he found. I asked him to show me how to bleed the air from one valve in a cold bedroom (it had a different valve than all of my others). He showed me the kind of tool I needed where I could get one, and bled the air out for me (the bedroom is much warmer now).

    Patrick was coming to fix some things that Duncan found the week before when he cleaned the furnace. I left the back garage door open and left him the garage door opener and a note to call me if the heat needed to be changed (I have a wifi thermostat). He called me to tell me what he had fixed and texted me where he left the remote (hidden on my porch) when he was finished.

    Our basement had a recent flood so it was a bit messy with stored items near furnace but he was gracious about having to move
    a few items. I was bit embarassed ;)

    We called ckSmith this morning due to a problem with our boiler. The telephone representative said a technician could come out today. I was very impressed with the care they expressed and the willingness to send someone out so quickly! We've had bad experiences scheduling service calls with other companies, but this was great! I'm sure they're very busy, but we were treated as if we were important and not bothering them. We were given a four hour window of time. The technician, Jim Howland, arrived well within that window.
    Jim was beyond excellent! He introduced himself as a representative of ckSmith before entering my house. He was friendly and greeted me with a smile. He looked completely clean and professional. Sometimes service people wear dirty or "inappropriate" clothing. Jim was just the opposite.
    I showed him the boiler and confirmed the problem, about which he had already been informed. I appreciated that he knew what to do without much explanation from me. That meant the service coordinator had communicated well, and Jim had paid attention.
    He immediately began working on the system. The repair was fast, but very thorough. Frequently, service technicians will concentrate only on the problem they were asked to solve. Jim went far beyond that. After completing the repair, he did a full check of our entire system, including the boiler and hot water heater, so I wouldn't have to worry that other problems were lurking.
    Upon completion, Jim explained everything he had done. Other technicians give a quick recap, if anything at all. Jim went above and beyond that. Two different times before leaving he asked if I had any further questions. He didn't seem to be rushing off, even though he probably had another call waiting for him. He also provided me with a printed copy of the completed Work Order. It spelled out exactly what he had done, which is also unusual. Some companies either leave that section blank or write a very vague description of the service call. Jim's report was thorough. I really appreciated him providing me with that report while he was here. It saved me from having to call ckSmith to ask for the paperwork.
    This is our first time calling ckSmith for a repair, and from start to finish, the experience could not have been better. The office staff is perfect and Jim is a rare example of gold standard in service, very unusual in this type of business. I would recommend CKSmith Superior without hesitation.
