What is considered an emergency?

• No heat
• No hot water
• Burst pipes or flooding
• A fuel leak
• Soot, smoke, or fumes

If you are experiencing any of these problems, please call immediately! Don’t send an email. In these situations, it is important to have a technician come as fast as possible, so make sure to call in order to get one to you quickly. 

Potential quick fixes for a loss of heat:

• Make sure that the oil burner emergency switch is in the “ON” position.
• Set the thermostat above room temperature.
• Check the fuel level on your oil gauge on your oil tank to be sure that the tank still contains oil.
• If you have Oilheat, press the reset button once only. If the burner does not start immediately, do not push the button again.
• If the burner or furnace does not run at all, check for a blown or loose fuse or a tripped circuit breaker. 
• If you have a steam heating system, check the water level and refill the boiler as needed.
